Engineering perception for the physical world

I work on systems that let machines see, understand, and act in the physical world, from spacecraft pose estimation to drones to medical robots navigating human vasculature. Trained in Microengineering and Robotics at EPFL, I specialize in computer vision for robotics and AI.

At Stanford, I'm developing the vision pipeline that localizes and tracks a magnetic microrobot for stroke thrombectomy, where precision is measured in millimeters and outcomes in lives. Long term, I want to help ship robots that operate safely alongside people, at the frontier where perception, learning, and control meet.

Current work · Stanford Robotics Lab

At the Stanford Robotics Lab, I'm building the perception system for a magnetically actuated millirobot designed for thrombectomy in stroke cases. The pipeline reconstructs the robot's 3D position inside a vascular phantom from camera views in real time, combining camera calibration, AprilTag-based registration, vessel-centerline mapping, and tracking that stays reliable through refraction, reflections, and contrast-dye injections.
